Artist INspiration: It was difficult finding an artist to be inspired by. After looking at the long list of possible artists, I felt lost. It wasn't until my second plan of using all materials in my backyard, that it became clear who was my artist inspiration. Andy Goldsworthy's work reflects his admiration for nature. Aside from that, it's almost as if he genuinely respects it. Looking into the possibilities of what could be made seemed impossible. Andy's work is extremely impressive and he is able to shape smaller objects into huge complex pieces. The two pictures on the bottom, as great examples for this. The picture to the left has a more rigid and almost creepy-like feel to it. The shape and use of branches, reminded me of a tipi, therefore I thought if I pursued one, it would definitely be a challenge but possible at the same time. I later saw the picture to the right, which has this big circle as an entrance, almost. It is very original and I wanted to incorporate something similar by using the branches of the pine trees with pine needles to make sort of like a square shape in front. That way, I still added my own twist to it.
