uW sTEVEns point
During December 4th, the entire Junior and Senior IB art classes visited the University of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. We were able to experiment with glass on paper, which resulted in unique burned drawings. It was my first time being able to experience with such tools since our school does not provide such. Also, there were students demonstrating how to mold and blow glass to create the desired shape. Having a first hand look at such processes, has broaden my knowledge as an artist.

HIstoric third ward gallery night
oil a city gallery This gallery contained works of artist named, Hal Koenig. All of his works reflect every day life, and all the possible sights that one may have within their days. I really liked the how all the paintings were in this unusual middle between realist, and sort of impressionist-like. For some paintings, the brush stroke were visible , while for the others, the blending was incredible. Overall, it was a vey neat gallery.

katie gingrass gallery I haven't seen works of stained glass bedsides church, and this gallery was lovely. All of the pieces had different color schemes and they all worked out so well. Although there wasn't a clear picture within the frames, the different shapes and sizes of the glass reminded me of the cubist movement and it was extremely visually pleasing. There was also one print that was really impressive. I've never seen such technique with a print, I first thought it was a painting!

Timothy cobb fine arts Within this gallery there were works of several more artists. Some artist names were: Reginald Baylor, Ebrahim Namdar Ganbari, Richard Sauer, Sue Bartfield, and the list goes on. What I enjoyed about it was the variety of pieces. There were 2D as well as 3D pieces that fit in together very well. I enjoyed some of the comical pieces. Due to the abstract of many of the pieces, I was very intrigued and wanted to know more about them.

greymatter gallery This gallery was a lot smaller than the rest. It had works of an artist named C. Matthew Luther who is based in Wuhan, China. It consisted of his very abstract prints, which he refers to as oxymoron. They basically represent all of the bad that is surrounding him and us being put together as something "pretty". When I walked in to see these pieces I was immediately in awe. Overall, it was great.

nomad art gallery The pieces in this gallery are very similar to the first gallery that I went to. All the pieces can't really be referred to as anything else but classic. They were all created with different perspectives, yet they managed to look similar. My favorite piece from this whole gallery was the one with the tree and the moon. It is called "December Sky" and I definitely see why. When I look at it, I feel the chills and it's sort of pleasing.

improvisations This has got to be my favorite gallery out of all. Everything was simply amazing! All works were done by Sally Duback. My favorite thing was her "The Hoodie Project: an exploration of perception". It is so relatable to everyone, and I believe that is the reason why I feel so attached to it. As I walked through the entire space, I was impressed at everything I saw. From her oil pastel works, to her prints.
